Fourier Art
About:
A mesmerizing Fourier series that draws a signal based on initial settings, that's "tool that makes cool art" for short.
Share your seed in the comments if you make an interesting art
You can technically draw anything using this tool, as long as you have the math for it, otherwise just play around with the sliders and see what you get.
Tips
- You can zoom in and out using scroll wheel
- Positive speed rotates anti-clockwise, negative speed rotates clockwise
- The unit speed determines the lines of symmetry, e.g. ±2 = 2 sides, ±3 = 3 sides ...etc.
- Try alternating between the same negative and positive speed
- The line quality is based on your frame rate, so decreasing the Time results is better quality, although alternating between high and low might give you interesting results
- This tool is deterministic so any contraption you make is reproducible using the seed
Dev notes:
This was a really fun project that i started as soon as i saw 3blue2brown's video, it was awesome and i wanted to make it, it took me around 3 days to finish, but more than half of that time was me playing it, i finished the core mechanic on day one and since then, every time i debug it i end up spending a lot of time playing to see what cool shapes i could get, all the screenshots are from the debugging actually.
